Next Meeting, Sunday May 6th

Sunday, May 6th, 2012 - 10am-12:00 PM at the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) on the Jericho Army base.

Noelle will speak about raising twins & still being able to have a successful career.

Noelle is an international award winning illustrator & product designer with her own product line. Her products & illustrations have appeared on television, international magazines, newspapers, webzines, and art shows, most recently in San Francisco & Chicago.

Her twins were 7 months old she got pregnant with her next. She says despite the overwhelming work of having twins, it is still quite possible to have an amazing career and still have time for yourself…..& no they do not have a nanny.

Next Meeting, Sunday March 4th

Sunday, March 4th, 2012 - 10am-11:30an at the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) on the Jericho Army base.

This meeting is a swap meet for members only.  Bring clean clothing, small items, shoes and toys to give to other members.  Pick up gently used items for your twins.

Bring bags or boxes to carry home your items.

All remaining items may be taken home or donated to charity.

Volunteers are urgently needed to help set up and take away the items.

Next Meeting, Sunday Feb 5

Sunday, February 5th, 2012 - 10am-12pm at the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) on the Jericho Army base.

Wendy Hall, UBC school of nursing, will be the guest speaker at our next meeting. Wendy consults about sleep issues in newborns and young children. She presented last year at the twins club and had rave reviews. Bring your sleep questions for Wendy next month. Many families reported that after they tried some of the techniques mentioned, they had much better sleep success with their babies and were more rested themselves.

Sunday, January 8th 2012 – 10am-12pm at the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) on the Jericho Army base.

This meeting will be a social hosted by Amy Goldlist. We welcome new and returning members to share their ideas and stories. If this is your first meeting, see about us for a google map and directions. Hope to see you there.

Party with Santa, Sunday December 4th

Sunday Dec. 4 10:00-12:00, is our annual party with Santa. Please contact Nancy Kartsonas if you haven’t received the e-vite.

How to access the Vancouver Twins yahoo group

The Vancouver Twins yahoo group is a great place to get advice and support from fellow parents of multiples in Vancouver.  The group is not open to the public though.  To access click on the “join this group” button.  If you don’t have a yahoo account, you will be prompted to create one.

Once you have joined and your join request has been approved, you can log in with your yahoo username/password using the “Sign In” link at the top right of the Vancouver Twins yahoo group page.

Next meeting Sunday, November 6th

Pomy Billan of HealthLink BC will give a presentation of the HealthLink BC 811 service Sunday November 6th, 10am-12pm at the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) on the Jericho Army base. Pomy’s goal is to spread the word of the wonderful tele-health service which is available for the residents of BC.  She writes,

Parents with newborns can access health information from the umblical cord to breastfeeding issues from our nurses.  If they need to know how much medication to give their newborn if there is a fever they can consult our (after hour) pharmacists.  Or if their child is about to start solids and they may present some food allergies they can speak to our dietitians as well.

Social and Meeting - Sunday, October 2nd

Sunday, October 2nd 2011 – 10am-12pm at the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) on the Jericho Army base. If you haven’t been before, entrance is off Highbury and 8th, and it is located in the centre of the base. You will drive past the playground, make a right and park in front of the tennis courts.

Meet other parents enjoying life with Multiples, connect with playgroups and feel support from those who understand. If you are pregnant, please come and chat…we have a lot of experience and love to help and share.
Volunteers will be present to help entertain your little ones so you can fully connect with one another.

Enjoy the Summer!

We are taking a break from meetings over the summer to relax and enjoy life. The email list is still going strong and members are encouraged to stay in touch between meetings.
We’ll be starting the meetings up again in September. As always, we’re looking for volunteers to help keep us going strong.

Sleep - how to get more!!

Sunday, February 6th - 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. at the Military Family Resource Center on the Jericho Army base. If you haven’t been before, entrance is off Highbury and 8th, and it is located in the centre of the base. You will drive past the playground, make a right and park in small parking lot beside the portables.

Wendy Hall, a sleep expert from UBC, will be in attendance ready to answer all of your questions regarding how to get your babies to sleep more.  Please come prepared to listen and learn.  Coffee and treats will be provided, as well as our amazing volunteers who will help to entertain your young ones.
